The BJOF is dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge through the publication of original research articles, systematic reviews, and critical essays that explore the Fabaceae and recognizes the global relevance of this plant group—fundamental to food security, agricultural sustainability, biological nitrogen fixation, and biodiversity—the journal aspires to establish itself as a distinguished platform of academic excellence and interdisciplinary dialogue.
The BJOF welcomes contributions that span genetic, physiological, and ecological aspects, as well as applications in sustainable management, crop improvement, biotechnology, and innovation in agri-food systems. In doing so, it promotes the dissemination of rigorous scientific knowledge, fostering connections among researchers, professionals, and policymakers at both national and international levels.
The journal values originality and the potential impact of research, accepting submissions that employ experimental, theoretical, computational, or innovative methodologies.
The BJOF serves as a hub for integration among academics, researchers, professionals, and consultants engaged in Agribusiness, Agricultural Sciences, Economics, Management, Food Science, and Nutrition.
All articles are published under a Creative Commons license, ensuring free, immediate access and unrestricted reuse of original content, in full alignment with the principles of open knowledge
In addition to its regular issues, BJOF publishes Special Issues (thematic collections) and Supplementary Issues (complete articles derived from conference proceedings), thereby broadening its scope of scientific contribution.

Modality 1: Communications (Short articles, Experience reports, Scientific notes, Bibliographic or documentary reviews)
Modality 2: Full Technical Articles (Scientific Research Articles, Meta-Analysis Articles, and Theoretical Articles) - see Submission Guidelines.
Modality 3: Publication of Abstracts and Extended Abstracts in Proceedings of Congresses, Seminars and Events.

The BJOF endeavors to maintain an average period of approximately four months between manuscript submission and article publication.
The BJOF is strategically and consistently committed to establishing its presence in the most prestigious international indexing platforms.
The articles are published in HTML, XML-JATS, and PDF formats.
