Withdrawal Policy

The Agribusiness and Agri-food Marketing Journal - AAMJ is committed to maintaining the integrity of the editorial and scientific publishing process. We recognize that, under certain circumstances, authors may need to withdraw their manuscripts. Below are the guidelines that apply to such requests.

Withdrawal Before Peer Review

Authors may request the withdrawal of their manuscript before it enters the peer review process without penalty. The request must be made formally by the corresponding author, via email to the editorial office at the address listed on the journal’s website. The message must include:

  • Manuscript title
  • Submission ID
  • Reason for the withdrawal request

Withdrawal During or After Peer Review

If the withdrawal request occurs after the manuscript has been sent for peer review, authors must provide a valid justification. The request, also submitted by the corresponding author, must include:

  • Manuscript title
  • Submission ID
  • Reason for the withdrawal request

In such cases, the authors will be charged 20% of the Article Processing Charge (APC) to offset editorial costs already incurred during the review process.

Withdrawal After Acceptance

Requests to withdraw a manuscript after it has been formally accepted for publication will be considered only under exceptional circumstances and are subject to review by the Editorial Board. A convincing justification must be provided.

  • If the APC has already been paid, no refund will be issued.
  • If the APC has not yet been paid, 50% of the APC will be charged to cover editorial and production costs incurred.

Unethical Withdrawal and Penalties

Unethical withdrawal of manuscripts—such as withdrawing a manuscript after acceptance in order to submit or publish it in another journal—is explicitly condemned by AAMJ. In such cases:

  • Authors will be required to pay 50% of the APC.
