Read more about Call for Paper SubmissionsThe Brazilian Journal of Poaceae (BJOP) is a peer-reviewed journal, published four-monthly, in digital format by ELGI Publishing. All articles are made available under a Creative Commons license, ensuring free and immediate access as well as unrestricted reuse of original content, in alignment with the principles of open knowledge.
The BJOP is dedicated to the dissemination of specialized knowledge on the botanical family Poaceae. Recognized for its strategic importance to food security, the sustainability of agri-food systems, and environmental conservation, this plant family comprises species that are fundamental to agriculture, livestock production, and, increasingly, to research on renewable energy, biofuels, and high-value bioproducts.
The BJOP’s mission is to consolidate itself as a forum of academic excellence and interdisciplinary dialogue by publishing original research articles, critical reviews, and innovative studies that address topics ranging from genetics, physiology, and ecology to applications in biotechnology, crop improvement, bioeconomy, and sustainable management.
Through this contribution, the journal fosters the integration of researchers, professionals, and policymakers, strengthening scientific progress and innovation at both national and international levels. The journal accepts submissions that employ experimental, theoretical, computational, or innovative methodological approaches, prioritizing originality and the potential impact of the results presented.
The BJOP promotes integration among academics, researchers, professionals, and consultants working in the fields of Agribusiness, Agricultural Sciences, Economics, Management, Food Science, and Nutrition.
In addition to its regular issues, the BJOP also publishes Special Issues (thematic collections) and Supplementary Issues (full articles derived from conference proceedings), thereby broadening its scope of scientific contribution.
Submission Categories
Modality 1: Communications (Short articles, Experience reports, Scientific notes, Bibliographic or documentary reviews)
Modality 2: Full Technical Articles (Scientific Research Articles, Meta-Analysis Articles, and Theoretical Articles) - see Submission Guidelines.
Modality 3: Publication of Abstracts and Extended Abstracts in Proceedings of Congresses, Seminars and Events.
Important Notes
The journal aims for the average time between manuscript submission and article publication is approximately four months.
The BJOP is strategically and consistently committed to establishing its presence in the most prestigious international indexing platforms. The articles are published in HTML, XML-JATS, and PDF formats.
